Lab.gruppen, Tannoy and Lake enjoy unprecedented success at InfoComm 2011.

Published on 24th June, 2011

InfoComm2011 stand InfoComm 2011 provided Lab.gruppen and Tannoy the chance to formally launch their much anticipated VX Series and VXP Series loudspeaker range to the North American market, the latter featuring Lab.gruppen’s new IDEEA™ (Intelli-Drive Energy Efficient Amplifier) power module.

InfoComm is regarded as the largest and most comprehensive pro-AV event in the world, with more than 32,000 AV professionals and 950+ exhibitors.

Tannoy’s new passive VX Series and Lab.gruppen-powered VXP Series sound reinforcement lines proved to be among the stars of the show, with visitors, delegates, and consultants attracted to the busy stand and packing out the demo room for every session, where they finally had the chance to hear the new product in action.

The VX and VXP Series build on the overwhelming success of the existing Tannoy V Series range, with an expanded line-up that includes twin driver configurations and new QCW™ (Q-Centric™ Waveguide) transducer technology for optimal tonal clarity, LF performance and greater pattern control. The addition of Lab.gruppen’s IDEEA module also affords new levels of reliability and efficiency in the self-powered solution, in the form of VXP Series.

Another key attraction on the stand and in the demo room was the special advanced preview of the forthcoming Lab.gruppen E Series of power amplifiers. Due for launch later this year, E Series is a new technology 2-channel, 1U amplifier platform that promises to bring the superior sound quality , reliability and exceptional performance that defines the Lab.gruppen brand, to a wider, more extensive range of installed sound applications thanks to its highly competitive price point and class-leading running costs. Comprising of 3 models ranging from 200 W per channel to 600 W per channel output, E Series also promises to define new standards in its class for energy efficiency, thanks to being Energy Star compliant – making it the most powerful ‘professional-grade’ amplifier on the market to achieve this.

Demo room at InfoComm 2011 “VX Series and VXP Series represents the first collaboration on a self-powered loudspeaker between Lab.gruppen and Tannoy,” said Marc Bertrand, CEO of TC Group Americas (TCGA). “In that sense it is little wonder that there was a great degree of anticipation surrounding the product. The importance of being able to let people hear them at such a crucial show as InfoComm can’t be understated, and we are all delighted with the response. It was also an excellent opportunity to give people an advanced preview of the E Series amplifier, as we work towards offering a fully integrated solution for the installed sound market.”

InfoComm 2011 also provided Lake Processing with the chance to showcase the brand new Mesa Mode for the LM 26 Digital Audio Loudspeaker Processor, which will allow use as either a 2-in/6-out stand-alone loudspeaker processor or as a 4-in/4-out system processor via a firmware upgrade to be available in latter half of this year.

Following its launch at last year’s InfoComm, this year was also the showcase for the flagship Lab.gruppen PLM 20000Q, which now boasts enhanced functionality – including Bridge Mode operation – allowing users to bridge four channels into two channels of 10,000 W each, or any other combination required to deliver desired power configuration across 2, 3 or 4 channels, for complete flexibility.
