Lab.gruppen and Lake have enjoyed another great success in Dubai.
With the audio visual market in the Middle East and Africa expected to be worth more than $3 billion by 2012, the show provided the two brands with a chance to shine alongside sister company, Tannoy.
Attracting a large number of visitors, the stand allowed all three companies to showcase their respective products to customers old and new. Special interest was shown to Lab.gruppen’s PLM™ Series of Powered Loudspeaker Management™ systems, including the flagship PLM 20000Q, the stalwart FP+ Series of tour-honed amplifiers and the installation-dedicated C Series.
Tim Chapman, Head of Marketing at Lab.gruppen and Lake, said: “Despite the well documented difficult conditions of the past 18 months or so, the Middle East market seems buoyant once more, and remains one of the key areas where potential for growth is very high. We’ve participated in the PALME show in conjunction with sister company Tannoy (via their direct office – Tannoy Middle East, based in Dubai) for 2 years now and found it to be a great platform for ‘touching base’ with our local existing distributors, not only in UAE but around the region including Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and even further afield with contact from Africa and Indian subcontinent.
Chapman continued: “With the growing live music and large scale production market here, and given the collaborative launch of the new VXP Series from Tannoy, featuring Lab.gruppen’s brand new IDEEA™ (Intelli-Drive Energy Efficient Amplifier) power module, it made perfect sense for us to participate at this year’s PALME – and very successful it has been too.”
Two days prior to the show, the companies took the opportunity to hold the inaugural Middle East Pro Audio seminar at the city’s DUCTAC centre, with key regional AV integrators and audio consultants in attendance.
The successful 1-day series of presentations attracted over 40 industry delegates and was very well received by all accounts, setting a new benchmark for other such events in the future, both locally and in other territories.
The unique invitation-only event was aimed at audio professionals throughout the region with an active involvement in the installed sound market, designed to give them an opportunity to discover the latest product innovations from the TC Group’s pro-audio brands; namely Tannoy, Lab.gruppen and Lake, as well as some insight into the market-leading DSP install solutions from Biamp Systems.
Lab.gruppen and Lake presented their industry-leading amplification and powered loudspeaker management platforms, with emphasis on the install potential of each of the main product ranges including PLM Series, FP+ Series and the feature-packed C Series of install-dedicated amplifiers. The Lake LM 26 standalone Digital Audio Loudspeaker Processor was also presented with some insights on its potential within large scale fixed installations as well as its obvious tour sound capabilities.
In a notable coup for the region, delegates were also treated to the very first public demonstration of Tannoy’s brand new VX Series and VXP Series. This proved to be a major highlight, evoking a great deal of positive and excited response from all present.
Mark Flanagan, Communications Manager for Tannoy, Lab.gruppen and Lake commented: “We were delighted to be able to showcase some of the new VX and VXP product here in Dubai, especially with it being in advance of the scheduled first public demonstration at InfoComm in June. It added extra impact and gravitas to the seminar and really underlined the company’s commitment and high regard for the Middle East market.”
