Lab.gruppen prepares for busy ProLight & Sound 2009

PL+S 2009 Lab.gruppen is anticipating an extremely busy ProLight & Sound trade show with the public unveiling of four new products.

The first of these is the Lab.gruppen Lake LM 26 stand-alone digital loudspeaker processor – the product that everyone has been waiting for since the company’s Lake acquisition announcement in mid-January. Based on the highly acclaimed Lake Processing technology and first product to be introduced under the newly acquired Lake brand, the LM 26 is a full-featured 2-in/6-out Lake Processor in a compact 1 U frame. It will offer seamless compatibility with the PLM™ Series as well as with all Dolby® Lake® Processors and earlier versions of the Lake technology, including Mesa Quad™ and Contour™. The easily programmable EQ and delay capabilities in the new product will allow quick configuration for use as a processor and line driver for self-powered loudspeaker systems as well as for systems with separate power amplifiers.

Other new developments include the powerful new flagship addition to the PLM Series of Powered Loudspeaker Management™ systems, the PLM 14000. Built around a two-input, two-power output channel platform optimized for high-power requirements, the PLM 14000 pumps a massive 7000 W per channel into 2 ohms and 4350 W per channel into 4 ohms, making it ideal for demanding subwoofer and low-end applications. As with the existing four-channel PLM 10000Q, the new PLM 14000 integrates Dante digital audio networking, Lake drive processing, and load verification with real-time performance monitoring into a single 2U hardware unit plus unified Lake Controller.

Also new for Frankfurt, Lab.gruppen is pleased to announce the addition of three new models to the legendary FP+ Series, including a new flagship amplifier, the FP 14000. The other two models are the FP 9000 and the FP 4000, bringing the FP+ range up to seven models in total. FP 14000 delivers an impressive 14000 W (2 × 7000 W @ 2 ohms) in just 2U. Optimized for sustained performance into extreme low frequency loads, FP 14000 nevertheless maintains Lab.gruppen’s reputation for exceptionally smooth and transparent mid- and high-frequency response. FP 9000 and FP 4000 also offer amazing power density, delivering 9000 W (2 × 4500 W @ 2 ohms) and 4000 W (2 × 2000 W @ 2 ohms) respectively, in just 2U.

Moving onto software, Lab.gruppen will be showing new and enhanced versions of its NomadLink® control and monitoring suite for C Series and FP+ Series products. Released in February, version 2.1.0 of DeviceControl software for C Series and FP+ Series amplifiers and V2.1.0 firmware for the NLB 60E NomadLink Bridge & Network Controller now provide channel-level control and monitoring, as well as the ability to fully report detailed fault, warning and subnet status to third party control and monitoring applications such as AMX and Crestron systems.
