In the light of today’s challenging economic climate, in order to remain successful and to continue to grow and innovate, companies must be efficient in everything they do. As a result, Lab.gruppen has seized the opportunity to take a long, hard look at all of its operations. The aim is to ensure that all processes are as streamlined as possible to enable us to achieve the goals that we have set for ourselves and our customers.
Here are a few examples of how we have been able to gain efficiencies:
- We’ve been able to utilize resources within the TC Group to great effect to make labor savings in order processing, purchasing and accounting.
- Investment in our IT infrastructure has allowed implementation of advanced automated MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) and accounting processes.
- Newer and more efficient product designs enable greatly reduced manufacturing times and lower parts counts for a far more compact manufacturing operation.
- Major suppliers of sub-assemblies and modules now operate from within the factory allowing a streamlining of purchasing processes and a reduction in direct labor costs.
- A complete redesign of our packaging from single cartons to skid/pallet compositions allows for speedy handling in addition to the environmental benefits of less and “greener” packaging.
These changes are all for the good, both for our workforce (we’re not planning on going out of business any time soon) and for our customers. Our mission is to continue to develop and deliver the innovative products the market has always expected of Lab.gruppen, and to continue to provide the same matchless levels of customer service for which we are renowned.
