Lab.gruppen is pleased to report vigorous sales of their flagship PLM Series of Powered Loudspeaker Management systems with integrated Lake Processing. A number of extremely significant sales have been made to prestigious clients into both the fixed installation and touring markets.
The world famous Twickenham rugby stadium and Lord’s cricket ground in the UK are just two recent installations to benefit from PLM technology. Twickenham, an 82,000-seater stadium in north London, deploys thirty-seven PLM 10000Qs, networked together across three rack positions. They power twenty-two bass and forty-eight mid/top cabinets, across twenty-two clusters for the main bowl, as well as 326 smaller loudspeakers (168 per level) to fill under the balconies. They also power six large horns covering the pitch.
Lord’s, a 30,000-seat stadium (also in North London) is considered the worldwide home of cricket. The venue is currently undergoing installation of phase one of a several year replacement and upgrade of the sound system. So far, nine PLM 10000Qs have been installed, driving 34 circuits across the site. The planned design will eventually have approximately 200 circuits.
Other notable installations include the Suzuka Media Park, a multimedia facility in Japan located in the Mie prefecture combining indoor and outdoor space for events, recording and rehearsal studios, and the FM station “Suzuka Voice”, as well as Liseberg, a renowned Swedish theme park in Göteborg which has taken some of the new PLM 14000s to drive their subs for the main stage.
In rental company world, PLM business is equally buoyant with a recent large sale to Adlib Audio including twelve PLM 14000s to drive their subs. Adlib now own a total inventory of forty-two PLM systems. According to director, Dave Kay, “It’s the only amp we have seen that really does work at two ohms with no compromise.” Several major sales have been reported to rental companies throughout Japan, Germany, Sweden, India, Russia… the list is long. Additionally – and no less significant – are regular sales to Clair Brothers including a recent initial PLM 14000 purchase of 250 units. A proportion of Clair’s PLM inventory is currently being prepared to go out on the forthcoming U2 360° world tour which kicks off 30th June at the Nou Camp stadium in Barcelona.
